Adobe Photoshop was used to create, edit, and revise the mood board for the Sea Turtle Rescue organization. Being able to efficiently layer individual pieces allows for a more solid design overall.

Multiple pieces of the motion logo was also created in Photoshop. Adding a transparent background allows for the image to be layered into the final video promotion.

The motion logo was exported from Photoshop and imported into After Effects so that each piece could be animated.

To put the video promotion together, all assets were imported into Premiere Pro. This program allows for a multitude of options for customization so that the design would be cohesive with the mood board and motion graphic.

Lighting and shading techniques let the designer highlight the important pieces of a design to better capture the attention of the audience.

The motion graphic was the last piece of the video promotion. It was added in Premiere Pro and edited to match the music of the video.

Acquiring Competencies
An expert level of skill was needed in the creation of the Sea Turtle Rescue organization’s marketing material. New and unique design solutions were discovered by testing many different fonts, images, and color schemes. These assets were transferred through different programs to achieve the level of design needed. Assigned readings, video tutorials, and instructor and peer feedback have been beneficial in learning a multitude of editing and creation software. The use of technology has made it possible for designers to ensure that every step in the design process, from the idea to the implementation, is completed and each asset is edited in the manner the client is expecting.
This project was designed in Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere Pro. Each program is full of editing options that require an educated artist to master and achieve efficient designs. The transition between programs, to make a successful composition, is a crucial skill for any designer. Each asset had to be exported into a format that would allow for instant editing in other programs. A master designer must have the knowledge to seamlessly place assets into different programs to produce a multi-platform delivery so that all forms of media are an outlet for the final design. Revisions to the designs also require an expert level of technical experience and organization to complete. The software project files hold all information in layers so that it can be easily found and edited, but without naming assets correctly or placing them into groups, the designer can quickly become confused with the plethora of information.
